Resolved Question: Tips, warnings, recommendations and anything else on planning a boat trip from Ft Lauderdale to the keys.?

Hi everyone, I'm planning a trip to the Keys this March and would really appreciate some tips, warnings, recommendations and anything else that would be helpful. Here are the details: I'll be departing from the Lighthouse Point Inlet in Pompano Beach, FL, which is about 220 miles (by car) to Key West. I'll be taking a 28foot Formula 280 Sun Sport, with twin 5.0 mercs. It'll be me, my g/f and 1 or 2 other couples (they will get hotels, and we plan on staying in the boat. I want to go from key to key each day, I have about 2 weeks for the whole trip. I'm a relatively new boater, and have only had this boat for about a month. Before this, I've only owned a small 19 foot run-around. I would really appreciate some advice from anyone thats taken a similar trip or even just avid boaters. Some tips that would really help: Shore power tips (my manual is kind of vague) General boating and route tips. Tools to bring, (just in case.) Things to do.
